Farmers seem to be divided on Chandrababu Naidu-led government resorting to land allocation to commercial institutions in a big way in the city of Amaravati. Although there are no objections to the government allocating land for large commercial centers and hotels within the capital area, some farmers are questioning who will buy the plots that have been allocated as their share if everything is allocated as government land.
They expect that by allocating land to some institutions, if those institutions come and carry out construction here, the land prices will increase and activity will increase. Accordingly, the government has allocated land for some hotels and convention centers. It has also ordered that their construction be undertaken immediately.
However, the fact that the government is allocating land to all institutions in succession has become a topic of discussion among them. Instead, many farmers are expressing the opinion that it would be better to consider selling the land allocated to farmers directly or entering into development agreements with the respective institutions.
Presently, there are 920 plots within the capital area ranging from 4,000 to 25,000 yards. Farmers say that if the government directly allocates land to all big businessmen at a low price, they will have to find buyers for their lands in the future. They want the government to ensure that farmers directly enter into sales or development agreements with some companies even if the government allocates them.
They say that economic development will come through commercial activities, and large amounts of land have been allocated to companies like SRM and VIT in the capital. At that time, there was criticism that the companies that got lands in the capital pledged their lands in banks and started operations here through them.
They want the companies that come to Amaravati to hold meetings with the farmers at the time of signing agreements and ensure that development programs start on the lands they have received. They say that they welcome the allocation of land to different companies and want the government to think ahead about the lands they have received.
