Hyderabad: Actor Allu Arjun visited KIMS Hospital, Secunderabad, on Saturday to meet Sritej, a boy undergoing treatment for serious injuries sustained in the stampede near Sandhya Theatre during a special screening of Pushpa 2. He was accompanied by Telangana State Film Development Corporation (FDC) Chairman and producer Dil Raju.
During his 20-minute visit, Allu Arjun interacted with doctors to inquire about Sritej’s health condition and ongoing treatment. He also spoke to the boy’s father, Bhaskar, offering words of comfort.
The visit comes after the actor clarified in a recent press meet that he initially refrained from visiting Sritej due to legal advice, as a police case had been registered regarding the stampede. After notifying the police, he proceeded to visit the hospital and meet the injured boy.
The stampede occurred on November 4 near Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during the benefit show of Pushpa 2, resulting in the tragic death of Revathi, a resident of Dilsukhnagar. Her son Sritej sustained critical injuries and was rushed to KIMS Hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, Allu Arjun, along with Pushpa 2 producers Mythri Movie Makers and director Sukumar, announced financial aid to the bereaved family. The actor contributed ₹1 crore, while the producers and Sukumar donated ₹50 lakh each. The cheques were handed over to the family through Dil Raju.
Police deployed heavy security outside the hospital during Allu Arjun’s visit.
