The makers of Akkineni Akhil’s long-awaited spy thriller ‘Agent’ are scratching their heads on how to promote the film aggressively. It has already been announced that the Surender Reddy directional will hit the screens on April 28th. With less than four weeks left for the release, the film needs a strong publicity campaign to get good openings. The swashbuckling teaser and the striking posters managed to create solid hype for the film. However, the inordinate delay has watered down the buzz.
Moreover, Agent team is racing against time to complete the pending portions of the shoot. If they miss out on April 28, it would be very difficult to find another ideal date in the next couple of months. The songs failed to add any hype to the film. Also, it is too early to release the trailer. So, the production house is in a dilemma whether to go ahead with the release or postpone the film. They need to come up with a solid trailer cut to generate hype for the film.
Akhil is very desperate to score a big hit and consolidate his market. All his previous films showed good promise initially but failed to collect strong revenues due to various factors. He can ill-afford to have another similar fate with Agent. It remains to be seen how the makers handle the crisis now.
