On Tuesday, the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted raids on the residence of Central Crime Station (CCS) Assistant Commissioner of Police Uma Maheswara Rao for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets.
Special teams searched the ACP’s home in Ashok Nagar, along with the homes of his relatives and friends in various parts of the city and state. The raids were prompted by allegations that Rao not only amassed disproportionate assets but also had connections with Sahithi Infra Company, which is under investigation for fraudulent activities from June 2019 to 2022.
Additionally, there are accusations that Rao was involved in settlements benefiting a real estate company with the help of acquaintances. He reportedly attempted to influence a senior police official regarding this matter, which drew criticism from the official.
