AAP losing its credibility with dirty leaders

Monday, December 23, 2024

The most celebrated party of the capital, AAP is not gaining momentum in its attempts to expand its wings beyond Delhi. The exit poll surveys in a couple of northern states explain everything.

Founded and led by a former IAS officer Aravind Kejriwal inspired by the leader Anna Hazare in 2007, AAP rose to power within no time and has been winning for the last three times consecutively removing the decades-ruled Congress and BJP. Kejriwal made a huge impact among the voters of Delhi and even went on to remove Congress in Punjab in the last elections.

However, the glory is short-lived as the exit poll surveys in the states of Modi’s fort Gujarat and Haryana was against the AAP. Observers say that the sole reason is the corruption within the party as most of its important leaders were entangled in scams and money laundering. The recent case of a liquor scam completely destroyed the credibility of AAP and its leaders and hence the people of Haryana and Gujarat are not in the mood to trust Aravind and Manish.

However, the chief Kejriwal still bats for himself stating that getting 15-20% of votes in BJP’s forts like Gujarat and Haryana is indeed a huge achievement and he is confident about expanding the party in many states within a few years from now.
