Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has reportedly introduced a set of new guidelines for the theatrical release of his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, scheduled to hit cinemas on June 20. Known for his innovative marketing strategies, Khan has asked theatre owners across India not to schedule screenings before 9 a.m., specifically advising against 4 a.m. shows. The move is seen as part of his efforts to preserve the viewing experience for audiences.
In addition, Aamir has reportedly instructed that ticket pricing be kept affordable for all viewers, with any hikes restricted to weekends and still within accessible limits. Sources also indicate that Khan has requested single-screen theatres to dedicate their entire daily schedule to the film, refraining from screening other titles.
Amid strong interest from streaming platforms, Aamir is said to have declined a ₹120 crore offer from Amazon Prime Video for the film’s digital rights. Instead, the production team is reportedly planning to release Sitaare Zameen Par on Aamir Khan’s official YouTube channel eight weeks after its theatrical run. The actor’s decisions have sparked wide discussion online and highlight his commitment to theatrical cinema and audience inclusivity.
