Former minister Harish Rao expressed his anger that the BJP is hurting the farmers who grow paddy in South India. He recalled that when the BJP came to power at the Centre in 2014, the minimum support price for wheat was Rs. 1400 and for paddy was Rs. 1400. He explained that today, the minimum support price for wheat in the country is Rs. 2,585 and for paddy Rs. 2,369, which means that wheat is being given Rs. 200 more than paddy.
He was angry and asked why there is a difference now if the support price was equal for both then? He deplored that due to the difference of Rs. 216, Telangana farmers are having to lose Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 7,000 per acre. ‘Is this Sab Ka Saath Sab Ka Vikas? Isn’t this nonsense? Shouldn’t our paddy also be given the same support price as wheat?’, he protested.
Moreover, he also accused that the Center has been showing discrimination between two Telugu states with regard to financial assistance. He said that they have given a special package to AP in the central budget. They gave a package to Amaravati. Why not give it to Telangana? If it is for the country, is there no Telangana in it? Do we have zero in everything?, he asked.
Harish Rao alleged that the BJP is the one who is stopping the funds for investments, industries, railway works and highway works. He said, ‘The regional ring road is in the air. Revanth Reddy will not ask. Modi will not give.’ He made it clear that if they want to play a key role at the center, people should pay attention to the role of BRS MPs.
Harish Rao is confident that BRS is guaranteed 100 seats whenever the assembly elections are held in the state. He said that the people of the state have become clear on this matter and that if all the workers work patiently, the pink flag will fly again.
He lamented that the BJP’s work has also become clear and that it has done nothing except making dialogues for the country and for the sake of dharma. He made a sarcastic remark, saying, ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas is actually complete nonsense.’
He asked what the BJP does not do for the poor, farmers and Dalits except for North India, Marwari and BJP workers? He was furious that 8 BJP MPs could not even bring 8 bags of urea after fighting with the Center.
Former Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy clarified that the illusions about the BJP are being dispelled and that Telangana has nothing to do with the BJP. He explained that while the state is getting a total of Rs. 10 lakh crores in the name of GST and Rs. 3 lakh crores in the name of income tax, the Center is giving only Rs. 4 lakh crores back to Telangana.
