Dhanush is set to wow audiences yet again, this time as actor and director in his new release Idly Kadai. Familiar with essaying tough roles and winning people over with his acting, Dhanush is also testing his wings as a director with new and interesting storylines. Being in line with his style of natural narrative, he has chosen a universal and thought-provoking plot for this film as well. The movie is produced by Aakash Baskaran under the banner of Dawn Pictures.
Nithya Menen stars as the female lead opposite Dhanush. As with many of his previous films, Idly Kadai will also release in Telugu. Dhanush’s earlier Telugu release, Kuberaa, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Shekhar Kammula, performed well with the audience, even though it received a lukewarm response in Tamil.
It’s interesting that Dhanush is releasing Idly Kadai in Telugu without promotional activity, surprising fans within the region. With a huge fan following and a healthy market in Telugu, hopes are high. The reasons for this low-key release remain unclear, making audiences wonder how well the film will be received.
