Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy says They will prevent Elevation of Almatti Dam Under Any circumstances

Stating that the Supreme Court has stayed the elevation of the Almatti dam and the state’s irrigation and civil supplies minister, Captain N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, has made it clear that they are against the elevation of the Almatti dam. 

He revealed that they will prevent the elevation from being increased under any circumstances and will file a special leave petition in the Supreme Court. He said that senior lawyer Vaidyanathan has been appointed for the arguments in the Supreme Court.

The Minister revealed that Telangana got justice in the Krishna and Godavari water share during the Congress rule. He alleged that Telangana got injustice in river waters during the ten-year BRS rule. Uttam Kumar Reddy stated that the state government has paid special attention to the conservation of irrigation ponds, ponds and canals in the Telangana region.

Accordingly, he revealed that discussions are underway on the formation of irrigation societies as per the decision of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. A special review meeting was held at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat on Monday to discuss the recent rains that have caused the small irrigation department to suffer from the erosion of ponds and canals.

He also discussed the Karnataka government’s decision to increase the height of the dam, the permits for Sitarama, Chanaka-Korata, Seethamma Sagar, Modikunta Vagu, and the restoration of SLBC works. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy said that all possible measures are being taken to ensure the safety of ponds, ponds, and canals, and that the government’s intention is not to harm farmers under any circumstances.

He said that the formation of irrigation societies has been taken into consideration to protect the interests of Telangana farmers and to avoid any disruptions in the irrigation sector. He advised the officials to ensure that irrigation societies are formed after the local body elections. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that if irrigation associations are formed to protect small and irrigated ponds, it will gradually help in expanding to large-scale water projects.
