Alleging that L&T exited from Hyderabad Metro only after Chief Minister Revanth Reddy cancelled Airport Metro, soon after he came to power, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao accused Congress leaders of having set their sights on 250 acres of Metro lands. He demanded that the Center conduct an inquiry into the state government taking over the Metro.
KTR alleged that a rift had started between CM Revanth Reddy and L&T Company since then. He said that if CM Revanth Reddy had thought about it, the Airport Metro would have been completed by now, and there was no land acquisition problem for this project.
KTR alleged that L&T Company had requested that the Airport Metro be continued, and even though L&T requested that the Metro be continued, CM Revanth Reddy did not agree. He alleged that L&T was in a lot of trouble because of Revanth Reddy and that it was leaving because of his attitude.
KTR appreciated that L&T ran the Metro after facing many difficulties. He lamented that L&T’s exit was a stain on the Telangana state government and that the Chief Minister himself was threatening investors. He was furious that Revanth Reddy was threatening to put industrialists in jail and was acting like a dictator.
KTR said that there was a good demand for Hyderabad Metro during the BRS government. He recalled that when they came down, Hyderabad Metro was the second largest system in the country, and that they also laid the foundation stone for Shamshabad Airport Metro while they were in power.
He said that when YS Rajasekhar Reddy built ORR in the past, he did a good job and left some extra land next to it. KTR revealed that KCR had drawn up plans for the expansion of the metro by 400 kilometers, and that the BRS-ruled cabinet had approved the expansion of the metro in phases.
KTR said that L&T had said that it would repair the Medigadda Barrage free of charge, and that Revanth Reddy did not like that statement. He accused that Revanth Reddy is hunting L&T from Medigadda to Metro, will L&T hinder their contract bidding.
He criticized that Revanth Reddy was biased against L&T for not getting the contract and prevented them from getting the contract on the pretext of technical issues. He accused Revanth Reddy of being angry and expelling L&T from the state.
KTR deplored that Revanth Reddy had incurred a burden of Rs. 15,000 crores due to his ill-considered decision and that the treasury was empty. He said that even though L&T had a chance till 2070, it was expelled earlier, and that MindTree, which belongs to KTR, was also in danger of going away.
