Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter’s upcoming film Homebound has already earned significant acclaim even before its official release. In a recent interview, Janhvi Kapoor praised her co-star Ishaan Khatter and reflected on the film’s journey.
“This is a remarkable story, and I accepted the project without thinking about whether it would benefit my career. During the shoot, every scene was crafted with utmost care. Seeing the film’s reception at the Cannes Film Festival was astonishing—it made us realize the impact it has on audiences. Most importantly, I never worried about being trolled for doing this film,” Janhvi said. She added that the positive response at Cannes demonstrated that every member of the team deserved international recognition. “Ishaan is one of the most talented actors in India, but he hasn’t received the recognition he deserves in Bollywood so far. Watching him on the Cannes stage and seeing the world appreciate his performance brought me immense joy. It reaffirmed that hard work eventually gets its due recognition,” she noted.
Homebound, which explores the bond between two friends, is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan and features Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, and Vishal Jethwa in key roles. The film premiered at Cannes to critical acclaim and recently won awards for Best Film and Best Director for Neeraj Ghaywan at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), further highlighting its global impact.
