Samantha, the veteran actress, has opened up about her evolving perspective on success in the film industry, revealing that she once measured her worth entirely by consecutive blockbuster hits and rankings in the top actor lists. Speaking in a recent interview ahead of her upcoming production Maa Bangaru Thalli, she admitted that fear of being replaced drove her to tie her self-esteem completely to numerical achievements. “I strongly believed that doing films without a gap was the only measure of success. There were years when five films released, and I considered that a huge achievement. I always calculated to stay in the top 10 actors’ list and aimed for big blockbusters,” she recalled.
However, Samantha emphasized that her outlook has shifted significantly over the past two years. “I haven’t done films in the past two years, nor am I in the top 10 list. Even though I don’t have ₹1,000-crore films, I am living happily with what I have. I used to constantly fear that someone would replace my position, and I thought my self-esteem depended entirely on those numbers. But now, I have completely moved past that mindset,” she said, highlighting a newfound sense of personal contentment.
Currently taking a break from acting, Samantha is focusing on her journey as a producer. She is set to return to the audience’s attention with her production Maa Bangaru Thalli, marking a new chapter in her career where she prioritizes creative fulfillment over numerical success. Industry insiders note that this shift reflects a broader trend of actors exploring production roles to craft more meaningful cinematic experiences.
