Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu praised his son, IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh, for his expertise in technology, noting that while he has a strong vision, Lokesh’s computer science background gives him an advantage. Speaking at the Guru Purnima celebrations on Friday, Naidu, an MBA graduate from Stanford University, said Lokesh is ahead in implementing technology, though competing with him remains challenging.
Addressing teachers, the CM urged educators to embrace technology and adapt to changing times. “Sometimes my grandson Devansh is faster than me with technology. Similarly, if students are quicker in the classroom, it becomes a challenge. Tools like artificial intelligence should be leveraged to enhance learning,” he said. He also announced plans to establish a ‘Quantum Valley’ to bring quantum computing technology to the state and emphasized updating syllabi to align with youth needs and current trends.
Naidu reaffirmed his government’s commitment to the education sector. He highlighted reforms such as the introduction of the counseling system for teacher transfers, naming institutions after luminaries like Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and Dokka Seethamma, ‘No Bag Day’ to reduce students’ book burden, and financial support for underprivileged students through the ‘Talliki Vandana’ program.
Despite the state’s financial challenges, Naidu assured that promises to employees and teachers will be fulfilled. “I am responsible for the welfare of teachers and employees. You all must take responsibility for shaping students’ futures and work to make the state number one across all sectors,” he said.
