Story:

Akhil (Mouli) is the backbench student with no concern for studies, much to the annoyance of his father, Gopal Rao (Rajeev Kanakala). Gopal Rao has aspirations of his son doing a B.Tech and getting a job in a top software company. When Akhil is unable to get a good rank in the EAMCET exam, Gopal Rao gets Akhil to enroll in a long-term coaching course so that he can increase his chances of making it big.

Conversely, Krishna Rao (SS Kanchi) wants a specific thing for his daughter, Khatyayani (Shivani Nagaram). Motivated by his own desire for her to become a doctor, Krishna enrolls Khatyayani in her fourth long-term coaching class. Here is where the life of Akhil and Khatyayani converges. Right from the first time they see each other, Akhil falls for Khatyayani and goes after her, eventually falling deeply in love.

However, their love story is far from smooth. A sudden twist changes the course of their relationship. What is this twist, and how does it affect Akhil and Khatyayani’s dreams? Will their love survive, and does it ultimately lead to marriage? How do their parents react to the unexpected turn of events? These are the core questions that drive the plot of this engaging film.

Review:

Mouli will definitely appeal to the younger Telugu audience with his portrayal and does everything that is expected of him. His first outing on the silver screen is not only endearing, but he is also very funny, especially with his timing in the second half of the film. There is a specific song sequence featuring Mouli that adds an imitation level of comedy to the film as it was one of the funniest moments in the film.

Shivani Nagaram, who gained recognition through Ambajipeta Marriage Band, takes on a role that perfectly suits her. She is so beautiful on the screen, but what beats all is her effectiveness in easily moving through various time frames. Her expressions and acting give depth to her character in a new way that makes her a highlight.

Jai Krishna, the young actor who also gets to share the screen with Mouli, adds to the entertainment quotient of the film too. His robust comic timing and convincing performance hold the audience spellbound, especially with the many comedy sequences found throughout the first and second parts of the film.

Seasoned actor Rajeev Kanakala makes a lasting impression as a father who is so concerned about his son’s studies. He performs the character of a worried family patriarch with conviction and feeling. Supported by him are actors SS Kanchi, Anitha Chowdhary, and Sathya Krishnan, all of whom contribute their own strength to the movie and lend weight to the overall narrative.

The film’s first half revolves around an intermediate-passed young man, his family, friends, and how he joins an EAMCET coaching institute. The story goes by with a light-hearted comedy, especially when he gets to know a girl in the coaching institute. The movie goes ahead with a straightforward but interesting storyline with many funny moments.

The plot is given an interesting twist during the interval, which brings in another level of intrigue regarding how their love life from this moment goes forward.

In the latter half, the movie keeps on entertaining with continuous comedy, and in between the laughter, a couple of emotional scenes are introduced to balance the mood. Even in these emotional scenes, the movie can include some humor through some scenes and songs, keeping the mood light.

Technically, the movie has good production value, especially given the budget offered by Aditya Haasan. Sinjith Yerramilli ‘s score is yet another big plus, the background score and the songs suiting the mood of the movie perfectly. Cinematography by Suriya Balaji gets the feel of the movie, but a bit of the technicality seems a bit old-fashioned. Sreedhar Sompally ‘s edit could have been a bit more polished to maintain the pace.

Director Sai Marthand shines in the way he presents the comedy tracks, which are quite definitely the best part of the film. Although the film itself is not based on any strong emotional content, he makes sure that the humor clicks with the audience. The rest of the film, though, seems a tad elementary and misses out on sophistication in its approach to other issues.

Overall, the movie does not offer additional twists and turns, so don’t hold your breath for any plot shocks. Because the film is more of a comedy, there is less emotional substance, particularly where family is concerned, which some may find lacking. It is an easy-going film that is best enjoyed by those who are seeking entertainment without drama or heavy emotional moments
