Nandamuri Balakrishna, is having a great run with back-to-back hits. Even in his 60s, Balayya continues to woo the audience with his larger-than-life persona and powerful performances. Now everyone is excited about the arrival of his upcoming movie Akhanda 2 directed by blockbuster director Boyapati Srinu, which has already become one of the most hyped Telugu movies of 2025.
The first Akhanda (2021) turned out to be the biggest blockbuster for Balakrishna, rocking box office collections into record breaking territory. Thus, a sequel announcement was naturally met with massive expectations and the newly released teaser only raised them again with its balance of action and devotional aspects.
Firstly, the producers had already scheduled a release on Dasara, September 25, 2025. But now the movie has been officially pushed to December 5, 2025. Post-production operations are currently underway at a rapid speed, while the team is also finalising business transactions which are taking place on an unprecedented level.
The latest buzz surrounds the film’s OTT rights. While earlier reports suggested Amazon Prime as the frontrunner, industry talk now confirms that Jio Hotstar has acquired the digital streaming rights for a staggering ₹80 crore.
Backed by producers Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner, Akhanda 2 is being mounted on a lavish scale as a devotional action entertainer. With Balakrishna and Boyapati reuniting after their previous success, expectations are sky-high for yet another box-office rampage.
