After almost a year and a half, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has reportedly finally decided to transfer IAS officers, who are known for their proximity with the previous YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime. Though leaders of coalition parties have been expressing their reservation in continuing such officers in key positions even after a change of government, the Chief Minister seems to be waiting expecting their change to the changed circumstances.
However, most of such officers are still continuing their loyalty with the previous regime and almost ignoring newly elected MLAs, Chief Minister and several other ministers said to have realized they are unable to gain a foothold in the bureaucracy. Due to their active collusion with the former regime, the government also realized it is unable to execute several initiatives effectively.
No matter how much freedom Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has given to the officers, TDP and Jana Sena leaders have been making complaints upon complaints that they are only paying tribute to the YSRCP leaders and doing their work. They have all requested Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu several times to transfer such people and are reportedly losing their patience due to the attitude of the Chief Minister.
However, after waiting for a year and a half, the Chief Minister seems to be preparing to transfer such people. There are allegations that some IAS officers in the Secretariat are indirectly supporting the YSRCP. There are criticisms that some district collectors are working as YSRCP agents along with such people. Now, it is widely felt the need to transfer all such officers.
Along with them, several IPS officers are going to be transferred. There is a campaign that the SPs of the districts will be changed. It is reported that those who are especially associated with the YSRCP are going to be transferred. Along with them, those facing corruption charges will also be transferred.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister himself expressed his anger towards the performance of some district collectors during various occasions. All such officers are likely to be shifted. Moreover, those who come here on deputation from other states are going to be given key posts. Some department heads are said to be transferred to other departments.
Department heads of irrigation, panchayat raj, municipal, medical, financial and industrial departments are said to be transferred. It is widely believed that the Chief Minister is facing pressures on the need to transfer some key officials like the TTD Executive Officer.
