YSRCP leader Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy’s brothers have suffered a setback in the High Court. It has rejected the anticipatory bail petitions filed by former MLA Ramakrishna Reddy and his brother Venkatrami Reddy in the double murder case.
Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy A6 and Venkatrami Reddy A7 are accused in the murder of TDP leaders Javisetty Venkateswarlu and Javisetty Koteswara Rao from Gundlapadu in Veldurthi mandal of Macherla constituency of Palnadu district.
AG Dammalapati Srinivas, representing the police, argued in the High Court that the Pinnelli brothers were involved in the incident. He said that there was a conspiracy and instigation of the Pinnelli brothers in the murder incident. The accused met in a restaurant and conspired for the murder.
He said that the Pinnelli brothers spoke to the people involved in the murder on the phone and there is technical evidence in this regard. He said that the Pinnelli brothers had assured the A1 accused that they would support him if he contested for the post of Sarpanch. He said that in order to uncover the facts, Pinnelli brothers should be taken into custody and interrogated.
He said that both of them have a rowdy sheet and a criminal history. He said that they are financially and politically powerful and if they are granted bail, they will influence the witnesses. He asked that the anticipatory bail petitions be dismissed.
Senior advocate Posani Venkateswarlu presented arguments on behalf of the complainant Thota Anjaneyulu. It was brought to the court’s attention that Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy has a history of breaking EVMs by entering polling stations during the general elections. He said that the petitioners had a role in a murder case that took place in Gandlapadu village in 2022.
He said that they had obstructed their authority and had their names removed from the FIRs. It was brought to the court’s attention that the police had filed a charge sheet without clarifying their role. It was argued that the police had filed a petition with the magistrate for permission to investigate the case further. He said that Pinnelli Venkatrami Reddy was absconding after the general elections.
He requested that the anticipatory bail petitions be dismissed after considering these factors. The lawyer on behalf of the petitioners argued that the petitioners were implicated in this case as part of political vendetta. After hearing the arguments, the High Court dismissed the anticipatory bail petition of the Pinnelli brothers.
Based on the complaint of eyewitness and relative of the deceased, Thota Anjaneyulu, the police had earlier registered a case against A1 Javisetti Srinu alias Bobbili, A2 Thota Venkatramaiah, A3 Thota Guravaiah, A4 Dongari Nagaraju, A5 Thota Venkateshwarlu, A6 Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy, and A7 Pinnelli Venkatarami Reddy. The Pinnelli brothers are accused of instigating the murders and aiding the murderers.
