TTD Chairman BR Naidu says protecting sanctity of Tirumala Lands, Adjacent To Saptagiris will Not Be Encroached upon

Tuesday, December 9, 2025

TTD Chairman BR Naidu said that the lands adjacent to the Saptagirs will not be encroached upon while protecting the sanctity of Tirumala and that the land will be used for the convenience of devotees. Strongly condemning the malicious comments being made on TTD, he lamented that former TTD board chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy is distorting the matter every day.

He explained that in 2008, an MoU was signed to give 30.32 acres of tourism land to Devalok through PPP. Devalok was allotted through LOI through the International Bedding Process in 2011, the Tourism Department allotted that land to Devalok in 2014, and the Government of India gave environment clearance in 2021. He said that the previous government had allotted 20 acres of land to Mumtaz Hotel and another 5 acres to the Meda Project.

Naidu recalled that at that time, large-scale Hindu organizations had staged dharnas and protests against the allocation of land to Mumtaz Hotel. 18.11. In 2024, the TTD board discussed the issue under the second item and passed a resolution that it was not appropriate to give it to Mumtaz Hotel and sent it to the government.

On March 21, when Chief Minister Chandrababu visited Tirumala, he discussed the issue and decided to take a total of 50 acres of land, including the 25 acres. He said that Chief Minister Chandrababu himself had contacted Mumtaz Hotel and convinced them to agree to allocate land on the other side of the road.

When Mumtaz Hotel insisted that Rs. 30 crores had already been spent on the construction of the hotel, the Chief Minister intervened and made them agree to the land transfer. Naidu wondered that it is strange that some people are deliberately criticizing the land transfer every day while the land transfer issue is in process.

The TTD Chairman questioned whether the tourism land was allocated to Mumtaz Hotel during your rule. It was you who gave the TTD lands to private individuals, if TTD lands had not been given to private individuals during your rule, this problem would not have existed today, it is ridiculous that you have made all the mistakes and are seeking a CBI inquiry.

He said that the latest TTD board has taken a decision to allocate the land opposite the road to the Tourism Department. He said that the decision taken by the TTD board has been sent for government approval and the file related to this is in process.
