Swasika Rejects Role in Ram Charan’s Upcoming Film

Generally, when one ventures into the film industry, they usually take up roles that are related to what they originally began with. Therefore, actors become stereotyped, and consequently, they later end up regretting taking up such roles, particularly when they feel they’ve lost out on better opportunities. In trying to make it, they end up taking up jobs that earn them fame but, in the long term, find themselves trapped in a specific type of character.

The Malayalam actress Swasika is an exemplary case. Even though she was given a crucial role against Ram Charan, she recently turned it down.

Swasika was 33. She recently gained fame with her performance as a mother in the movie Lubber Pandhu, winning the appreciation of critics and audiences alike. After her impressive performance, filmmakers began to offer her similar “mother roles.” She confessed in a recent interview that she refused to play Ram Charan’s mother in his next movie.

She clarified, “Having played mother roles in the past, I was approached to play Ram Charan’s mother in this film. I don’t know how my career would have worked out if I had taken it up, but now I don’t want to do such roles. If I am offered something like this in the future, I will rethink.”

Peddi, the movie by Buchhi Babu Sana’s direction, which is the director who created a huge impact through Uppena, has Bollywood starlet Janhvi Kapoor playing the female lead role. Divyendu Sharma and Kannada star Shiva Rajkumar also feature in the film in a major role. The film is set to hit screens on March 27.
