Lokesh’s Big Announcement for Andhra Pradesh’s Unemployed Youth

Friday, December 5, 2025

Minister Nara Lokesh, is moving in impressive directions in terms of political leadership and governance. Praised for his pragmatic way of working, he has managed to get considerable funds from the central government for the state, alongside getting additional resources for all the departments under his supervision. Lokesh has been determined to model Andhra Pradesh’s education sector as a national standard. On Friday, he announced something significant that is going to bring advantages to the state’s education sector.

Lokesh revealed that now the state will conduct District Selection Committee (DSC) exams every year for the recruitment of teachers. Ever since the coalition government has assumed power, more than 16,000 teacher posts were already out, and the recruitment drive is almost complete. This will result in the opening up of more than 16,000 new teaching jobs in the state, and the government plans to conduct DSC exams every year to meet teacher retirements and newly created vacancies.

This is an extension of Lokesh’s larger vision of improving Andhra Pradesh’s education system to model the country’s. Lokesh stressed that reforms in education are being implemented but cannot be effective without sufficient human resources to back them up.

Apart from emphasizing the need to upgrade the infrastructure in government schools, Lokesh highlighted the need to strengthen human resources in the education department. He likened his policy to the YSR Congress government’s “Naadu-Nedu” program, which centered around infrastructure development. However, that initiative placed the burden of overseeing these projects on an already understaffed teaching force, creating additional challenges for educators.

Lokesh emphasized that during the previous government, not a single teacher post was recruited in the last five years. He contended that proper reforms in the education sector cannot be achieved without focusing on the recruitment and training of teachers. Conversely, Lokesh is proceeding with a thoroughly researched and methodical approach to address the issue of teacher shortage and ensure the success of the education reforms of the state.
