TDP Historic win In Pulivendula ZPTC By-poll, YCP Lost Deposits In Jagan’s Fortress

Friday, December 5, 2025

The YSRCP has registered a humiliating defeat losing its deposit in the Pulivendula ZPTC by-election, the fortress of former chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s family, the results of which everyone is eagerly waiting for in Andhra Pradesh politics. TDP won a landslide victory in Pulivendula for the first time.

TDP candidate Mareddy Latha Reddy won with a majority of about 6,050 votes. Latha Reddy is the wife of Pulivendula TDP in-charge and former MLC B.Tech Ravi. As the Pulivendula by-elections were held in a close race like the assembly elections, there was excitement over the results.

The coalition formed by the government with a landslide victory in the last general elections in AP has now won a stunning victory in YSRCP chief YS Jagan’s own constituency. Mareddy Latha Reddy, the TDP candidate and MLC B.Tech Ravi’s wife, won a sensational victory by a margin of 6050 votes as the Pulivendula ZPTC.

In the by-election held for the Pulivendula ZPTC seat, TDP candidate Mareddy Latha Reddy got a total of 6735 votes. YSRCP candidate Hemanth Reddy got only 683 votes. With this, TDP candidate Latha Reddy secured a one-sided victory by a margin of 6050 votes.

The YSRCP, which boycotted the repolling on the second day and the counting today, alleging irregularities on the polling day, failed to gain any respect even if it was not the expected result. The YSRCP’s failure to secure a small ZPTC seat in Pulivendula, Jagan’s assembly constituency, is likely to have a major impact on the party in the coming days.

The YSRCP, which had already won only three out of 10 assembly seats in Kadapa district in the last year’s election, is now further hampered by the defeat in the by-election. The party was shocked to lose its deposit after the candidate Hemanth Reddy, who had been brought from abroad with high hopes, secured only 683 votes.

Moreover, in Ontimitta ZPTC by-poll also the TDP candidate is leading in counting of votes, while YSRCP candidate Iragamreddy Subbareddy did not attend the counting.
