Nandamuri Balakrishna performed Bhumi puja For Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital In Amravati

Hindupur MLA and Hospital Chairman Nandamuri Balakrishna performed Bhumi Puja for the Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital on 21 acres near Thullur in the capital Amaravati. He recalled that the foundation stone of the Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital in Amaravati was laid in 2019. He said that after that, some dark situations arose and the hospital construction work could not be undertaken.

Balakrishna explained that the work was undertaken after the coalition government led by ChandrababuNaidu came to power. “Today, we started the construction work of the hospital in a festive atmosphere. It rained heavily at night. However, we started the work as per the auspicious time. God showered blessings in the form of rain. Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital is not for profit”, he said.

”We also built a hospital in Hyderabad after overcoming many obstacles. We have received many awards in recognition of the services provided to patients. It has earned a good reputation as the best cancer hospital in the country. We provide cutting-edge cancer treatment at a low cost”, Balakrishna said.

“Similarly, we have installed cutting-edge medical equipment for radiation for patients. We conduct tests by going to the people through mobile cancer screening. The support provided by cancer expert Nori Dattatreya to the hospital is unforgettable,” he added.

Balakrishna said that in the first phase, infrastructure, advanced equipment and 500 beds are being set up for the cancer hospital in Amaravati with an investment of Rs 750 crore. He said that Telugu people and donors from all over the world are coming forward for this. He said that the first phase of work will be completed by 2028 and medical services will be made available.

A Center of Excellence will be made available in this campus for comprehensive cancer treatment and research, as well as patient care. In the first phase, he said a wide range of oncology services will be provided with a capacity of 500 beds. It is expected to be set up with an integrated care model for disease prevention, early detection, treatment, etc. and start operations by 2028.

In the second phase, he said the bed capacity will be increased to 1,000. The campus will be developed as a regional referral center for complex and advanced cancer cases, with the establishment of specialized departments, research departments, and a dedicated cancer center, he added.
