Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu himself is reportedly expressing dissatisfaction with the way the state finance department is handling the payment of bills. It is learnt that the Chief Minister wondered over the attitude of officials in the finance department, who are showing more interest on payment of bills for the works done between 2019 and 2014, the YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime, by abandoning the pending bills.
After coming to his notice about these matters, the Chief Minister has reportedly himself mentioned this issue to Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav. It is known that the YSRCP government, which came to power in 2019, has stopped paying the bills due for the works done between 2014 and 2019. The then contractors have also brought this to the notice of Chandrababu Naidu.
While the old contractors feel that their troubles are over now that the Telugu Desam Party has come to power again, there are allegations that the finance department is once again dashing their hopes. Even now, the contractors are complaining that their bills are not getting approved and that payments are being made only for the works done between 2019-24.
It is learnt that most of the people who did the work were representatives of the Telugu Desam Party, their close relatives and friends. At the same time, questions are also coming from old contractors about why the contractors of the Rishikonda Palace built in Visakhapatnam during the Jaganmohan Reddy regime are also being paid?
There are also allegations that payments were made for the work done by the previous Chief Minister during his visits, which cut down thousands of trees. In this context, it is reported that Chandrababu Naidu has also spoken to the Minister of that department, Payyavula Keshav.
It is being spread that he has directly expressed dissatisfaction by saying that the policies being followed by the officials should be ignored and how can the bills be paid as a state? Many felt within the ruling party that even after change of government in the state, the influence of YCP leadership among officials continuing as usual.
