Director Srinu Vaitla, celebrated for his trademark blend of action and comedy, has worked with some of Tollywood’s biggest stars, including Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, and Mahesh Babu, delivering several commercial hits. Speaking in a recent interview, Vaitla addressed why he has never teamed up with Balakrishna. He revealed that he holds great admiration for the actor and had once planned a film with him, but the project could not take off. He expressed optimism that such a collaboration would happen in the future, reminiscing that his career began as an apprentice on Balakrishna’s film Prananki Pranam.
Discussing the much-speculated sequel to his hit film Dhee, Vaitla explained that the character played by the late Srihari was crucial to the story, and he felt it would not be appropriate to continue the role with another actor. Although there were initial plans for a sequel, the decision was ultimately made to drop the idea in respect of Srihari’s contribution to the original.
Vaitla, who impressed audiences last year with Viswam starring Gopichand, is now focusing on his next venture. He confirmed that he is currently working on the script for a full-fledged comedy entertainer, promising fans a film that stays true to his signature style of humour and engaging storytelling.
