Pulivendula ZPTC By-poll Turns A Matter of Life And Death For YS Jagan

Friday, December 5, 2025

The Pulivendula and Ontimitta ZPTC by-elections being held in the Kadapa district after the general elections are reminiscent of the assembly elections. In both places, the TDP and the YSRCP are competing like a battle of wits. These two sitting seats were previously held by the YSRCP, so they have become personally prestigious for former Chief Minister Jagan, ohan Reddy.

Especially, the Pulivendula election, which has been a political stronghold for the YS family since 1978, has become a matter of life and death for Jagan. The YSRCP lost seven assembly seats in the last election in its own district and became a mind block.

Now, in the by-election held in its own district, especially in its own territory, the TDP has unexpectedly emerged and is competing on a large scale. They are lining up from the YSRCP to the TDP. In this context, the comments made by the late Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Dr. Sunitha on the murder of her father is causing a stir in the YSRCP.

Meanwhile, Minister Savita, MLAs Adinarayana Reddy, Madhavi, District President R Srinivasa Reddy, MLC Ramgopal Reddy from TDP; MP Avinash Reddy and Ex MP Gorantla Madhav from YSRCP are campaigning in Pulivendula. The Pulivendula by-election is going on like a battle between TDP and YSRCP.

Until yesterday, it was a stronghold for YSRCP. However, former MLC B.Tech Ravi acted strategically and admitted YSRCP activists in large numbers to the TDP. Moreover, Ravi’s wife Latha Reddy is contesting as a TDP candidate. She is adding enthusiasm to the TDP with daily additions.

YSRCP is trying to retain the sitting seats at any cost. MP Avinash Reddy and other YSRCP leaders are moving forward as per the instructions of former CM Jagan. The comments made by Dr. Sunitha, who came to Pulivendula on the occasion of Viveka Jayanti, about the murder of Viveka, are causing confusion in the YSRCP.

Her accusations about the involvement of MP Avinash Reddy in her father’s murder and Jagan preventing from holding a rally after the death of her father and the demand for a change in the politics of murder in Pulivendula have put YSRCP leaders in tension. Clashes broke out between the TDP and YSRCP for two consecutive days in Pulivendula.

In this context, tension arose when the flexi banners set up by the TDP were torn on Friday. In the context of the elections being held on the 12th of this month, necessary transport facilities are being provided to voters from Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai and other places to bring them to the district on polling day. The cost of vehicles for return and return has already been deposited in the voters’ accounts.
