CM Revanth Reddy Reveals Three options Before Them To Implement BC Reservations

Friday, December 5, 2025

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy revealed that they have 3 ways to implement BC reservations. He said at the media conference in New Delhi that the law brought by the previous government on the 50 percent ceiling should be set aside and a GO should be given. However, he said that it may not be possible as if a new GO is given, he said that anyone will go to court and a stay will be imposed.

Revanth said that the second way is to stop local body elections now. But, he deplores that it will put obstacles in receiving central funds. If central funds are not received, he said  the systems in the villages will collapse. Revanth said that the third way is to give 42 percent of the seats to BCs in terms of party.

He revealed that pressure will be put on other parties for 42 percent of the seats for BCs. Stating that they are putting pressure on the center to get the bill approved by the President, Revanth Reddy revealed that they will wait until the evening for the President’s appointment. He said that they expect the President to take an independent decision. If she does not give time, he cautioned that it should be considered that the Prime Minister has pressured her.

Revanth Reddy, who said that all the available ways have been tried to implement 42 percent reservations, said that if they fail, local body elections should be held through alternative means. He made it clear that there is only ABCD classification in educational and job reservations and revealed that there is no sub-categorization in political reservations.

He said that 42 percent reservations have been made for all BCs and explained that there is no special reservation for any group. Revanth Reddy deplored that union minister Kishan Reddy is talking without understanding. He advised Kishan Reddy to first read the law.

He said that there is no classification in OBC reservations politically. Revanth Reddy said that there is already a 4 percent reservation for BC-E category and questioned where the new 10 percent reservation came from?

Meanwhile, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar asserted that they will fight till the end for BC reservations. Stating that they will fight in the Gandhian way and achieve what they want, he warned against allowing the conspiracies of people like Union Minister Kishan Reddy to continue.
