Stating that the life of former minister Mandali Venkata Krishna Rao, who stood as a shining example of honesty, should serve as a guide for all, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced that the AP Official Language Commission will be named after him in recognition of his services to the Telugu language.
The Chief Minister participated as the chief guest in the centenary celebrations of Krishna Rao, held at the Tummalapalle Kalakshetra in Vijayawada. On this occasion, he praised the commitment of Mandali Venkata Krishna Rao, who never craved money. He also gave the five acres given by the government under the quota of freedom fighters to the poor, which reflects his values, he added.
“There is an important reason why I have come to this meeting today. I have to tell the youth of today how politics should be based on values,” Chandrababu commented. “I had the opportunity to work with him when I was an MLA between 1978-83,” he recalled.
“Mandali Venkata Krishna Rao fully followed the ideals of Gandhiji. A leader who did not know any obstacles. He is truly a descendant of Mahatma,” Chandrababu said. More particularly, he recalled that his services during the Diviseema upsurge are unforgettable. The Chief Minister praised Krishna Rao as a leader who supported the people with a humanitarian approach and such people are rarely born.
Chandrababu expressed happiness that Krishna Rao’s son and TDP MLA Mandali Buddha Prasad is also moving forward with morality and honesty like his father. He also has the same affection for the Telugu language,” he said. The Chief Minister said that Mandali Venkata Krishna Rao’s life has become a message and that he should be remembered as a person with honesty, humanity and love for the language in his work.
Mandali Buddha Prasad recalled that his father Mandali Venkata Krishna Rao lived a life full of values and used to go to the assembly by bus as an MLA.
