Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the sanction of a greenfield highway for Vijayawada-Hyderabad. He, along with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, laid the foundation stone and inaugurated the works of 29 national highways worth Rs. 5,223 crore at the CK Convention Hall in Mangalagiri on Saturday evening. Later, he said that six major projects have been approved in the state.
Nitin Gadkari announced from the assembly stage that projects worth Rs 1,182 crore are being sanctioned for the Hyderabad-Vijayawada road with 6 lanes at a cost of Rs 6,700 crore, Vijayawada-Machilipatnam 6 lanes at a cost of Rs 2,600 crore, Vinukonda-Guntur 4 lanes at a cost of Rs 2,000 crore, Guntur-Nizampatnam 6 lanes at a cost of Rs 4,200 crore, Buggakaipa-Giddalur 4 lanes at a cost of Rs 4,200 crore, Akiveedu-Digamarru 4 lanes at a cost of Rs 2,500 crore, Pedana-Lakshmipuram 4 lanes at a cost of Rs 4,200 crore, and Muddanur-Kadapa 4 lanes at a cost of Rs 1,182 crore.
Gadkari said that there is no shortage of water availability in the country, but water management is the biggest problem. He suggested that a large amount of water from Godavari meets the sea and that water can be taken to the Cauvery via Krishna and Penna. He showered praises on Chandrababu Naidu as a visionary leader. He said that ports and shipyards are a big asset for the state. He said that if green hydrogen and green energy are made available, there will be no pollution problems at low cost.
CM Chandrababu said that he will never forget the encouragement given by Gadkari to Polavaram. He said that 37 kilometers of highway work is being done in the country every day and he is confident that Gadkari will take it to Rs. 50 kilometers. He said that their goal is to bring world-class logistics hubs. He revealed that they are also taking rapid steps in the production of biofuel.
Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan said that they have started the Adivasi Thallipath with the spirit of development of national highways. He said that they are working with the aim of creating plans for facilities and employment opportunities for tribal villages and targeting agencies that do not have dollars.
He warned that some people are sitting in wait to damage the unity of the alliance. He said that it is very important for the alliance to remain together for another 15 years for the comprehensive development of the state.
Union Ministers Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, State Ministers Janardhan Reddy and Satyakumar Yadav spoke. MPs Daggubati Purandeswari, CM Ramesh, Kesineni Chinni, Lavu Srikrishna Deva Rayalu, NTR, Guntur district MLAs and MLCs, Legislative Council Deputy Chairman Zakriya Khanam, and BJP State President PVN Madhav participated.
