Universal Hero Kamal Haasan has acted in numerous legendary roles in his career, yet Bharateeyudu (formerly Indian in Tamil) is one of the most iconic. Shankar, master craftsman that he is, directed the film to be a resounding success with the audience and a huge blockbuster in all languages.
Decades later, the enthusiastic fans were excited when the much-awaited sequel Bharateeyudu 2 (Indian 2) finally landed on the silver screens in 2024. But for all the hype and fanfare, the movie didn’t quite measure up. It met with mixed reactions and was unable to recapture the same magic as in the first one.
With all that, the entire world now waits for Indian 3. In Part 2, a surprise glance at the third one sent the fans into a buzz of anticipation. There were even those who believed the third part was the one that should have been done and released without doing the second.
After overcoming a few postponements and production hurdles, director Shankar is reportedly completely on board to get Indian 3 a decent theatrical release. If industry rumors are anything to believe, the crew is planning for a grand release in the closing stages of 2025.
Though official confirmation is yet to come, rumors surrounding Indian 3 have indeed brought back attention to the franchise. If the producers do keep to schedule, this year may wind up on a high note for Shankar and Kamal Haasan fans everywhere.
