Nithin’s latest film Thammudu, which hit theatres on July 4, is all set for its OTT debut on Netflix from August 1. The film will be available in multiple languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. Directed by Venu Sriram, Thammudu explores the story of Jai (Nithin), a successful athlete who has won several national awards, but struggles to focus on his life due to the haunting memories of his estranged sister, Snehalatha (Laya). After a family rift, Jai embarks on a journey with his friend Chitra (Varsha Bollamma) to reunite with his sister.
The film also marks the return of senior actress Laya to Telugu cinema, who plays the role of Jai’s sister. Her character, Snehalatha, cuts ties with her family and changes her identity to Jhansi, eventually getting involved in dangerous circumstances with a criminal gang led by Ajraval (Sourabh Sachdeva). The plot thickens as Jai discovers his sister’s new identity and attempts to protect her and her family from the looming danger posed by Ajraval’s gang.
With music by Ajaneesh Loknath, Thammudu has garnered attention for its engaging storyline and strong performances. Produced by Dil Raju, the film is expected to captivate a wide audience when it streams on Netflix, giving fans another chance to witness Nithin’s action-packed performance, while also showcasing an emotional family drama that deals with themes of love, family, and redemption.
