Former IAS official Vijay Kumar Demands To sack Pawan Kalyan From cabinet For His cinema promotion

Friday, December 5, 2025

Liberation Congress Party President and former IAS official Vijay Kumar has accused AP Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan of abusing his power to get collection for his film, and demanded to sack him from the cabinet.

To this extent, he made a complaint  to the Chief Secretary of the government and the DG of the Anti-Corruption Department through a letter. He demanded that action be taken against Pawan Kalyan under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

He criticized that the promises made by public representatives and ministers during their oath-taking and the rules to be followed in the 3rd schedule of the Constitution are not being implemented in AP, especially the oaths taken with sincerity of not looking after self-interest are being trampled on.

Vijay Kumar criticized that Pawan Kalyan, who is the Panchayat Raj and Forest Minister and Deputy CM, does not care about the Constitution and its rules, and that people are facing many difficulties due to the lack of basic facilities like roads, drinking water and drainage in villages, but Pawan is making films.

While the provisions of the Constitution say that it is wrong to act in films while being a public representative and minister, Pawan Kalyan has been criticized for promoting the movie Hari Hara Veera Mallu, focusing on increasing the prices of movie tickets for collections and profits.

He wondered that Pawan himself is claiming that he processed the file related to the price hike, and since it is his own film, processing the file even if it is not his own department comes under the category of abuse of power.

He alleged Pawan Kalyan, who says that films are his livelihood, is not paying attention to the code of conduct given by the Government of India, and is Pawan Kalyan not aware of the rule that he should not be involved in businesses and other sources of income before taking up the post of minister.

Vijay Kumar revealed that Pawan Kalyan, who said that he was acting in films for income, has openly accepted his mistake. According to the Prevention of Corruption Act-1988, is it not known that a person who is a public representative does such things for personal gain?, he asked.

Vijay Kumar accused him of extorting money from the fans who trusted him by increasing the prices of his film tickets immensely while being the Deputy CM. Pawan Kalyan should remember the Supreme Court’s clarification that a public representative should not attend film functions or act in films, he said.

He said that if he was a minister and wanted to go for a film shoot, he would not take any remuneration and should have taken permission from the government, but Pawan did not do so. This is a complete abuse of power. Vijay Kumar also accused Pawan Kalyan, who is in a responsible position, of inciting his fans to turn against those who criticized him and inciting violence.
