KTR recently raised serious accusations against Revanth Reddy, CM Ramesh, and Andhra Pradesh contractors regarding the Future City project. In a quick retort, CM Ramesh retaliated, saying that KTR’s assertions were created out of frustration after the BJP rejected the merger offer with BRS. Ramesh mentioned a crucial Delhi meeting with KTR and Kavitha, where KTR had proposed that if BRS merged with the BJP, current investigations against them would stop. Even after the talks with BJP leaders, Ramesh made known that BJP had strongly turned down the proposal, and this defeat seemed to make KTR utter such allegations.
Ramesh challenged KTR to produce CCTV footage of his visit to his home, stating there were no discussions about the merger. He further questioned KTR’s authority to grant contracts for the Future City project and raised concerns over why KCR had been giving out contracts for the past ten years. Ramesh also demanded transparency about the contracts given to Andhra contractors.
In a pointed remark, Ramesh reflected on his past friendship with Revanth Reddy when he was with the TDP, saying that KTR and KCR had apparently forgotten their previous association once they ascended to the political heights. While stressing the disparity between politics and personal relationships, Ramesh asserted that he was well aware of KTR’s personal life, including his visits to the U.S. and Maldives, and threatened he would raise this with the ED and CBI if necessary. He indicated that KTR’s sister may already have given such information.
Ramesh also turned the tables on KTR’s previous claims of the BJP turning down the merger, reminding him that it was KTR himself who had proposed the talks of the merger in the first place. He warned KTR that if he kept going on with his accusations, further embarrassing details would be brought out. CM Ramesh clarified that his silence should not be taken as acceptance and promised to bring out further details if KTR continued with his accusations.
