Tollywood actor Nara Rohit’s upcoming film Sundarakanda, marking his 20th project, has created a significant buzz even before its theatrical release. Directed by Venkatesh Nimmalapudi, the film is set to introduce the director to the industry, with Rohit in a lead role alongside an ensemble cast. The film is produced by Santosh Chinnapolli, Gautam Reddy, and Rakesh Mahankali under the Sandeep Picture Palace banner.
In a major achievement, Sundarakanda has sealed a ₹12 crore non-theatrical business deal. The film’s digital and satellite rights have been acquired by Jio Hotstar for ₹12 crore, with the Telugu rights valued at ₹9 crore and the Hindi dubbing and audio rights sold for ₹3 crore. This deal is particularly noteworthy as non-theatrical business has become increasingly competitive, but the film’s strong content has evidently resonated with the OTT platform, which decided to invest after reviewing the material.
This early success for Sundarakanda underscores the growing influence of compelling content in the OTT space. With this milestone, the film is poised for a grand worldwide release on August 27, 2025. The deal highlights the potential of well-crafted narratives to secure significant backing, proving that high-quality content continues to attract substantial investment in both digital and theatrical markets.
