Former Chief Minister and YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy seriously condemned the comments made by TDP MLA Gali Bhanu Prakash on former minister RK Roja Selvamani describing them as extremely despicable.
In a post in X, he deplored, “The comments of TDP MLA Gali Bhanu Prakash reflect the evil culture that has become worse in the Telugu Desam Party. Unable to bear the fact that my sister RK Roja, who has served as an MLA and a minister twice, was abused with the most vulgar language for pointing out and questioning the government’s mistakes and speaking out loudly”.
He accused that this did not happen by chance, but a testament to the most heinous culture that has become a thread in the TDP with the aim of silencing the voices of women who criticize them. He alleged that Chandrababu Naidu is continuing his political career through personality assassination. To be honest, he accused that Naidu got a high position by making the most heinous accusations and spreading misinformation against a woman.
Since then, he said that personal attacks and the philosophy of hating women have become a brand of the TDP. In order to intimidate and silence women who speak out boldly, he alleged that the party leaders have shamelessly made the most objectionable comments and have also made criticism. They have made it a habit.
In that category, he deplored that they have brutally harassed and humiliated many women leaders over the past year. When RK Roja went to file a complaint about the most heinous comments made by an MLA against her, he wondered that the police, despite the facts being clearly visible, again expressed doubts about her. How bad has the police system become in the state?, he asked.
“It shows to what extent they are forgetting their responsibility and duty to protect the TDP goons. In fact, it is not just in the case of Roja. In addition to former minister Vidadala Rajani, Krishna district ZP chairperson Uppala Harika, and the family members of many leaders of our party have also been subjected to many humiliating incidents”, Jagan added.
After the TDP government came to power in the state, he alleged that women have been left without any protection. He demanded that at least MLA Bhanuprakash, who brutally insulted former minister RK Roja, should be immediately arrested and legal action should be taken.
