The epic action franchise Baahubali, directed by SS Rajamouli and featuring stars like Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Sathyaraj, and Ramya Krishnan, is gearing up for a grand re-release. Titled Baahubali: The Epic, the new version will combine both parts of the original films into a single movie. Preparations are already underway for its October 31 release.
The upcoming release has sparked a playful exchange on social media between lead actors Prabhas and Rana. Recalling the iconic question that gripped audiences a decade ago — “Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali?” — Rana cheekily replied to a team question saying, “If that hadn’t happened, I would’ve killed him myself.” Prabhas responded humorously, sharing a poster of the ₹1,000 crore milestone and quipping, “I wouldn’t have let you do that, Bhallala.”
Meanwhile, discussions are ongoing about the final runtime of Baahubali: The Epic. The combined runtime of Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion exceeds five and a half hours. The team is working to trim it to approximately three and a half hours without affecting the core storyline. The makers noted that the new cut would align closely with the duration of a typical IPL match.
The film is expected to rekindle the grandeur and global appeal of Telugu cinema that Baahubali first brought to the international stage. With its rerelease timed ahead of the festive season, fans are anticipating a fresh theatrical experience of the legendary saga.
