Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has ordered the officials to file cases against the engineering colleges that provided false calculations to TAFRC to increase fees. He made it clear that unlike during the previous government, the education business should be controlled and counseling should be started with the old fees.
The CM held a review meeting on the education department for more than 3 hours at the Police Command Control Center and directed the officials to file cases against the management of the engineering colleges that submitted false documents to the Telangana Admissions and Fees Control Committee to increase fees.
There were allegations that some colleges had given higher salaries to the teachers and spent more on maintenance work and submitted false calculations to TAFRC. Based on these, TAFRC has basically confirmed the fee hike and also took the signatures of the management to agree to it.
It seems that CM Revanth Reddy criticized the previous CM KCR for inspecting engineering colleges as a task force, but they could not even catch a mouse by digging a mountain. He expressed his anger that some people have turned education into a business. He asserted that unlike the previous government, we have been instructed to dig a mountain and control the college business.
It seems that it has been made clear that there should be no retreat under any circumstances and that there should be no stain of corruption in the education sector. He said that technical education in the state should become a model for the country and directed that necessary cleansing measures be taken for this.
This time, CM Revanth Reddy has already ordered that engineering counseling be conducted with the old fees. Since someone may have to approach the court, the CM has ordered that legal advice be taken and counseling should be conducted.
After the review, Technical Education Commissioner Sridevasena consulted the Advocate General and other legal experts. As per the government’s order to issue the counselling schedule, the officials of the Higher Education Council and the Technical Education Department will discuss and release the schedule.
The fact that the State Higher Education Council Chairman Balakishta Reddy, who is also the Chairman of the Admissions Committee, was not invited to the CM’s review meeting was a matter of discussion.
