Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed dissatisfaction over the non- performance of in-charge ministers. He questioned why the in-charge ministers were not doing so even though they were given the responsibility of filling nominated posts in their respective districts? He asked them to take responsibility for winning 99 percent of the seats in the local body elections.
The Chief Minister asked why the district in-charge ministers were given funds, but not using properly in their respective districts? “All the funds and responsibilities are with you. But you are not paying attention to the districts. This is not correct”, he said.
He also became serious about some Congress leaders staging dharnas for ministerial posts. He warned that if discipline is violated in the party, they will be dismissed. He directed those who got posts to travel all over Telangana state. Stating that there is nothing wrong in asking for posts, but he advised them that the protest should be moderate. He directed that the PCC executive committee members be divided into two and a list should be prepared.
Revanth Reddy directed that one list should be prepared for those who worked and another list should be prepared for those who did not work. Speaking to the media on this occasion, the Chief Minister, who participated in the PCC Political Affairs Committee meeting held at Gandhi Bhavan, made it clear that if they do not work, they will be demoted and if they work, they will be promoted.
He said that there is no need to be shy about setting them aside if they do not work. He recalled that some leaders did not take the responsibility of the Frontal Organization Chairman when he became the TPCC chief. He said that as they were senior, those leaders told him against accepting small responsibility. But, he recalled that leaders who took the responsibility that day were given corporation posts when the Congress government came to power.
Revanth Reddy said that if they participate in the party building, the posts will come automatically. He asked everyone to be ready for the 2029 elections, saying that their government will be in power for another four years. He asked that those who are not working in the party should be removed from their posts.
He concluded that if the Congress wants to come to power for the second time in Telangana, it depends on the performance of the party leaders. He made it clear that the power will be ours for ten years. He warned that if the party posts are looked down upon, it will be a loss for them. He suggested that the party and the government should work as a team.
