In Tollywood, it’s quite common for scripts to be written with specific stars in mind. While some films are flexible enough to suit any actor, most stories are built around a particular hero. But when plans change — due to schedules or other reasons — the role often ends up with another actor. If the movie turns into a hit, it leaves everyone wondering what might have been.
This seems to be the case with Nithiin’s upcoming film “Thammudu”, which is now set for release on July 4. According to industry insiders, director Venu Sriram originally planned this film with Natural Star Nani in mind.
While Nani had apparently enjoyed the script, he requested time due to previous commitments. As things took longer with no discernible timeline in sight, Dil Raju decided to proceed and signed Nithiin instead. Having faith in the power of the story, the unit went ahead and even increased the budget, feeling the film would appeal just as strongly to the audience.
In a recent interview, Dil Raju stated in the final minutes of the interview, that the production budget did go a little over but he was positive about the movie. The promos so far have generated immense hype in the fans who cannot wait for the movie.
With “Thammudu” ready for release now, high expectations are already being generated that it will become a landmark film in Nithiin’s career.
