Tollywood superstar Jr NTR continues to rule the silver screen with his energetic performances. Owing to the mind-boggling international success of RRR, his popularity has gone beyond national shores, and he has taken his place among India’s best pan-India stars, and even got international recognition. With several big-budget films in the works, his dedication to cinema remains stronger than ever.
However, despite his clear commitment to films, political speculations surrounding Jr NTR never seem to fade. The latest flashpoint came while AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi made a recent public speech in Kurnool, where a mention of Jr NTR generated fresh controversies regarding the actor’s possible foray into politics.
In the midst of all such ongoing speculations, BJP Andhra Pradesh president and Union Minister Daggubati Purandeswari, who happens to be Jr NTR’s paternal aunt too, was recently quizzed about all such rumors in a YouTube interview. Her response was unflustered, reflective, and reflected the family point of view.
Jr NTR is young and has tremendous potential in the film world. Whether he wishes to take up politics or not is a call that only he can make. It’s not something anybody else can determine or forecast,” asserted Purandeswari, leaving the decision squarely in his hands.
She also addressed long-running conversations about Jr NTR’s childhood and perceived distance from certain family members, dismissing such discussions as irrelevant today. “Those are things of the past. The family is united now, and that’s what truly matters,” she said.
Purandeswari made it clear that politics has never been a topic of conversation between her and Jr NTR. She emphasized that each individual should have the freedom to chart their own course in life. “We’ve never discussed politics. Whatever decisions he makes, they’ll be his alone,” she noted.
Now it’s clear that Jr NTR has his whole heart in his successful film life. Although the rumor about him joining politics is always there, any such entry—whenever it would be—if at all, would be purely on his own will and timing.
