Actress Keerthy Suresh has described her upcoming film Uppu Kappurambu as an engaging, satirical comedy that delivers a serious message in an entertaining manner. Directed by IV Sasi and produced by Radhika L, the film features Suhas in a prominent role and will premiere on Amazon Prime Video from July 4. Speaking at the trailer launch event in Hyderabad, Keerthy said the film is designed for family audiences and stands apart from typical dark comedies. “It’s a story that’s both humorous and thought-provoking. My role as Apurva is that of an innocent village woman who takes charge of local responsibilities and learns to navigate complex issues,” she explained.
Addressing the decision to skip a theatrical release, Keerthy said the film was best suited for OTT viewing, offering accessibility to a broader audience. Reflecting on her experience, she shared her fondness for comedy and her desire to work on experimental projects. “It’s tough to make people laugh, and that challenge excites me,” she noted, adding that her recent project Raghuthatha was also a comedy, though of a different kind. She praised co-star Suhas for his dedication and on-set energy, calling the collaboration “special.” When asked about her rumoured involvement in the Vijay Deverakonda–Ravikiran Kola project, she simply remarked, “Producer Dil Raju will answer that.”
