Renowned filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli lauded director Sekhar Kammula for his unwavering commitment to his principles during the pre-release event of the pan-India film Kuberaa, held in Hyderabad on Sunday. The film, starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles, is scheduled for worldwide release on June 20.
Speaking as the chief guest at the event, Rajamouli said, “Sekhar Kammula appears humble, but he is remarkably firm in his beliefs. Regardless of the situation, he never strays from his values. That quality is rare, and I respect him immensely for it.”
Rajamouli also shared his surprise at learning Kammula has been in the industry for over 25 years. “I always assumed he was my junior, but he’s actually a year senior to me,” he noted.
Describing his reaction to the project, Rajamouli said, “When I heard Nagarjuna and Kammula were collaborating on a film titled *Kuberaa*, it felt perfect. When Dhanush joined the cast, it became an even stronger combination. The ‘Trance of Kuberaa’ glimpse was mind-blowing — portraying Nagarjuna in the world of wealth and Dhanush in the realm of poverty without revealing the plot was a smart move.”
Praising the trailer and visuals, he said, “Sekhar usually discloses his story early, but this time he kept the suspense intact like a thriller. The trailer has raised expectations. Niketh’s visuals are stunning and the film’s aesthetics are top-notch. Devi Sri Prasad’s song ‘Naadi Naadi Lokamantha’ is truly the soul of the film.”
Rajamouli concluded by encouraging audiences not to miss *Kuberaa* when it releases on June 20.
