Amaravati Farmers Again protested Demanding strict Action Against Krishnam Raju, Sajjala

Farmers in the Amaravati region on Saturday protested in the capital Amaravati region agaub demanding strict action against journalist Krishnam Raju and YSRCP leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, who made harsh comments against women in the capital Amaravati region.

They raised slogans against Sakshi Channel owners YS Jaganmohan Reddy and YS Bharathi in Thullur. They demanded that both of them apologize immediately. On this occasion, they displayed placards demanding that Sakshi Channel be closed immediately. On the other hand, farmers and women in Mandam village sat on the road. This caused heavy traffic congestion.

The police were called in to clear this traffic. They made it clear that these protests will continue until Krishnam Raju and Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, who made inappropriate comments against women in the capital region, apologize.They demanded that the government take this issue seriously and immediately arrest those responsible.

They questioned how Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, who is on bail in a case, could make such comments. They demanded that the court immediately cancel his bail. The protesters suggested that the coalition government should take strict action against those who made such comments. Otherwise, they said that they would become more agitated and create law and order problems.

It may be recalled that journalist Krishnam Raju was alrady arrested and sent for judicial remand for his defamatory comments against Amaravati women in Sakshi TV debate, calling Amaravati as a `capital of prostitutes’. The police also arrested journalist Kommineni Srinivasa Rao, who conducted the debate, but he secured bail from the Supreme Court.

The police acted on the basis of the complaint by a women, after protests by women and farmers in the capital Amaravati area expressed their anger over Krishnam Raju’s comments.  Also, several complaints have been registered against them at various police stations across the state. Responding to these concerns, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy made more abusive comments. Farmers and women in the capital region were outraged by Sajjala’s comments.
