YSRCP mobs pelted stones and attacked women protesters in Podili of Prakasam district on Wednesday, when they were protesting against former chief minister and YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s visit. The women protested with black balloons and placards, demanding that Jagan apologize for his inappropriate comments on the women of Amaravati.
In this context, YSRCP activists pelted stones at the women. Several women were injured in the attack. Jagan was met with a wave of protests when he arrived at the tobacco auction center to visit and talk to farmers.
The women expressed their anger over the debate on Sakshi TV, which denigrated the women of Amaravati. They demanded that Jagan publicly apologize to the women. In this order, the YSRCP mobs threw stones and slippers at the women who were protesting peacefully. A constable on duty there was seriously injured.
The police dispersed both sides and sent them away. The women criticized Jaganmohan Reddy for supporting those who makes indecent comments against women. They said that it was not right to attack them while they were protesting by standing on the side of the road. They were angry that people did not show any shame even after admonishing Jagan and the Psycho batch, who have no respect for women.
Meanwhile, TDP women held a huge protest rally with black balloons demanding the closure of Sakshi Channel and Paper, which had spoken indecent words about women in the state capital Amaravati. Later, they handed over a petition to the Ambedkar statue in Kandulapuram Center.
TDP constituency women president Thota Mahalakshmi and ZPTC member Kothapalli Jyoti demanded strict action against Sakshi Channel reporter Kommineni and journalist Krishnam Raju. They said it was shameful that the channel’s MD Bharathi Reddy did not condemn or apologize for insulting women.
The women raised the flag that Jagan Reddy had thrown his mother and sister out of the house because he had no respect for women. Kambham Town TDP women president Arepalli Subhashini, Ardhaveedu mandal leader Kathi Bharathi and many women activists participated in the program.
Meanwhile, Minister Nara Lokesh strongly condemned the attack by YSRCP psychos on the women and police who were peacefully protesting in Podili. “Jagan Reddy Garu made a condolence visit to the Tenali Ganjai batch rowdy sheeters the other day. Now, supporting those who call women as prostitutes,” Lokesh said indignantly.
He lamented that Jagan dragged his own mother and sister out of the house by the neck and dragged them to court. He deplored that it is greedy to expect that you, who spread misinformation about the birth of his own sister, will respect women.
Lokesh demanded that Jagan unconditionally apologize for the attack on women by YSRCP leaders in Podili and for his inappropriate comments on women. The minister warned that the miscreants who pelted stones at women and police will be severely punished.
