The much-anticipated collaboration between Icon Star Allu Arjun and director Atlee has taken a major leap forward with the official announcement of Bollywood star Deepika Padukone as the female lead. The news was confirmed by production house Sun Pictures through a special video release, which came as a surprise to fans eagerly tracking updates on the project.
Touted as AA22, this will be Allu Arjun’s 22nd film and his first outing with director Atlee. The film is said to be a high-budget science-fiction action drama exploring themes such as parallel universes and reincarnation. The team is reportedly creating an entirely new world with the help of an international VFX studio. Shooting is expected to commence in the second half of 2025. This also marks Deepika Padukone’s second Telugu venture after Kalki 2898 AD, and her role in AA22 is said to feature high-octane action sequences, adding a fresh dynamic to the pan-Indian film.
