Achcha Rao, a resident of Thimmapuram village in Kakinada district, who raised slogans against TTD in Tirumala on Friday, is found to be a follower of former YSRCP minister Kurasala Kannababu. He was appointed as the chairman of the local Venugopalaswamy temple during the previous government.
When he was the chairman, Rs. 50 lakhs were sanctioned from TTD for the construction of a new temple for Venugopalaswamy. There are doubts that Achcha Rao has visited Tirumala many times in the past and knows how long it takes for a complete darshan, and that he did this deliberately to tarnish the reputation of Tirumala.
In the video of him raising slogans, YSRCP Sarpanch Bezawada Satyanarayana was also present. It is reported that TTD vigilance and police officials have identified the person who took the video while raising slogans. Tirumala police have registered a bind over case against Achcha Rao.
Achcha Rao apologized for the slogans against TTD, saying that he felt if they protested, they would have given them darshan quickly. He admitted that it was wrong to do this in the presence of Srivaru. He revealed that he received milk and anna prasad near the place where the slogans were raised.
TTD Additional EO Venkaiah Chowdhury said that legal action will be taken against the people who provoked the devotees and made videos. “We will take legal action against the people who provoked the devotees and made videos. This is a matter of public trust. It is a matter of divinity. Apart from this, we will take strict action against those responsible under the law”, he added.
Meanwhile, Minister Nara Lokesh accused the YSRCP of conspiring to tarnish the image of TTD. He alleged that it is trying to gain political benefits through this. He was furious that the YSRCP Paytm batch had played a drama with Achcha Rao and had made a video of it and posted it on social media. He warned that they would not hesitate to take strict action against anyone who spread false propaganda against TTD.
