Due to various unfortunate incidents in and around Tirumala, the AP government has been focusing on the security establishment in the world renown pilgrimage destination. Particularly, in recent times drones and planes flying above the temple, hampering the sanctity of the temple causing worry to the temple administration.
Considering various challenges the TTD has been facing in the security environment, the AP DGP Harish Kumar Gupta strongly felt that there is a strong security set-up needed for Tirumala considering its popularity as well its sensitivity across the world.
He has also suggested having an SoP for each Security Agency involved in Tirumala including APSP, DAR, SPF, HGs, Civil Police and TTD Security besides a Disaster Management Team to tackle the exigencies if any.
A high-level meeting on Security Audit was held at Annamayya Bhavan in Tirumala on Friday in the presence of DGP Harish Kumar Gupta along with the TTD Executive Officer J Syamala Rao, which discussed on the various security aspects and the measures to beef up security in Tirumala and surroundings keeping in view the prevailing circumstances in the country.
Earlier, Tirupati SP TTD In-charge CV&SO and Harshavardhan Raju explained the Security related issues and the Security Audit measures being contemplated through a brief PowerPoint Presentation.
The DGP also suggested a Multi-layered vehicle scanning system at Alipiri, to collaborate with Defense Agencies on Sensor Play system, modernized security equipment, and a strong Cyber Security System for TTD.
Syamala Rao felt the need for a formal coordination mechanism on Security besides strengthening the Cyber Security Set-up in Tirumala and expressed pleasure for a detailed review on Security Audit.
Among the various other Police officials, Additional DGP Law and Order Madhusudhan Reddy, Additional DG for Intelligence Mahesh Chandra Ladda, IG Srikanth, DIG Ananatapuram Dr Semushi, SP ISW Arif Hafiz, DFO Vivek, other top brass officials from different security agencies and others were present.
