The Telangana government has announced the Gaddar Film Awards after a 14-year hiatus, with jury chairperson and veteran actress Jayasudha unveiling the winners at a press conference held alongside Telangana State Film Development Corporation (TSFDC) Chairman Dil Raju. The awards were selected from 1,248 nominations, recognizing films released between June 2014 and December 2023. One best feature film was selected for each year during that period, while a full slate of category-wise awards was announced for the year 2024. Telugu and Urdu films were both given recognition.
Among the top honours, Kalki 2898 AD was named Best Feature Film of 2024, followed by Pottel (Second Best) and Lucky Bhaskar (Third Best). Other notable winners include Allu Arjun (Best Actor – Pushpa 2), Nivetha Thomas (Best Actress – 35 Idi Chinna Katha Kaadu), and Nag Ashwin (Best Director – Kalki). Technical awards were presented across 11 categories, while special jury awards went to Dulquer Salmaan, Ananya Nagalla, directors Sujeeth and Sandeep, and others. The government also instituted honorary awards named after legendary figures like NTR, B.N. Reddy, and Raghupathi Venkaiah.
