In a scathing critique of the opposition, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has dismissed the Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) recent Mahanadu event as nothing more than a theatrical performance. Addressing YSRCP leaders and grassroots representatives from various municipalities and panchayats, Jagan dubbed the TDP as the “Telugu Drama Party” and questioned their definition of political strength.
“Hosting an event in Kadapa or launching personal attacks on me doesn’t prove leadership,” Jagan remarked. “Real power lies in fulfilling promises made to the people.”
Jagan went on to accuse TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu of eroding democratic values by allegedly coercing elected representatives, filing fabricated cases, and cultivating a toxic political environment. He warned that these actions would have consequences, alluding to a “return gift” awaiting those involved.
Targeting the ruling coalition, Jagan pointed out that the new government has failed to generate even a single job in its first year. He challenged TDP leaders to go door-to-door and ask citizens if they feel any promises have been fulfilled. “People still have copies of your manifestos, and they’re questioning what happened to the so-called Super Six assurances,” he said.
Mocking Naidu’s Mahanadu appearances, Jagan said, “Striking a pose at a public event doesn’t make one a true leader. Leadership is proven through action, trust, and being with the people when it matters most.”
In a message to YSRCP workers, Jagan reaffirmed their importance in the party’s renewed mission, which he termed “YSRCP 2.0.” He assured them that their struggles and sacrifices haven’t gone unnoticed. “Every injustice you face—make a note. When we return, we’ll settle those scores with interest,” he declared, signaling a strong comeback.
