The uproar created by Jana Sena leader and AP Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh alleging that the threatening to close theaters if the present system of lease is not given up, said to be a strategic move by Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan to benefit this forthcoming film `Hari Hara Veera Mallu’.
In a strategic move, Pawan Kalyan has reportedly provoked this controversy so as to force the film industry as a unit to approach the AP government for increasing of cinema ticket rates for his film, with out the need for him to approach on his behalf.
So far, film producers are individually approaching both Pawan Kalyan and his party’s minister Kandula Durgesh seeking increase of cinema ticket prices for their films. But, now, Pawan Kalyan is finding it difficult to clear such files for his own film by himself, which may attract ire from the courts giving scope to allege `personal interest’ in government matters.
Pawan Kalyan’s movie is scheduled to be release on June 12. Like all movies, the rates of this movie should also be increased. However, the hero of this movie is the Deputy Chief Minister of the state and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh of Jana Sena. This makes this matter sensitive no matter how you look at it.
That is why when the issue of theaters came to the fore, In a statement Pawan Kalyan asserted that hereafter he will not receive any individual pleas from film products. So, now Hari Hara Veera Mallu producer A M Ratnam need not submit a request to the government seeking privilege prices for his film.
If the Tollywood follows Pawan Kalyan’s advise, the film bodies should represent the government on behalf of the producer, where the producer will not be seen in focus. Recently the government appointed a committee to finalize the ticket rates for films. This committee includes officials from various departments as well as film producer Vivek Kuchibotla.
Industry sources say that he is a business partner of People’s Media head TG Vishwa Prasad, who is known to be very close to Pawan Kalyan. So, Pawan Kalyan is intending that without direct involvement of himself and also his party’s minister Kandula Durgesh, the government will facilitate through this committee to increase cinema ticket prices for his film.
