Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu conducted the Gruhapravesam (housewarming ceremony) of his recently built house at Kuppam, his traditional constituency, early on Sunday morning. The ritual started with 4:30 AM traditional Vedic procedures, according to time-honoured practices.
This is a special moment as it is the first time in more than thirty years that Chandrababu Naidu, who has been an MLA from Kuppam since 1989, has constructed a house of his own in the area. The house construction was a commitment he made to the people during the previous election campaign. The new house is situated at Shivapuram village of Shanthipuram mandal, constructed on two acres of land.
Prior to the propitious ceremony, Naidu’s wife Bhuvaneshwari landed on Saturday afternoon to monitor preparations. She was followed by Nara Lokesh, his wife Brahmani, and their son Devansh. Following the end of his Delhi commitments, the Chief Minister returned late Saturday evening to participate in the ritual.
Since the housewarming was a personal family event, Chandrababu avoided taking part in any official events on Sunday.
To mark the occasion, Chandrababu Naidu organized a grand dinner party among residents of the Kuppam constituency. Invitations were specially made to each household, with TDP leaders going door to door to give a warm invitation to the people. Locals responded in large numbers and were overjoyed at their leader having finally found a home among them.
Most regarded the event as a celebration by the community, with Bhuvaneshwari spearheading the organization of the food preparation, lending the event its personal and emotional feel.
Images and footage of the housewarming have since been shared widely on social media, eliciting widespread congratulations for the Chief Minister. Most praised the emotional connection he has with Kuppam and his dedication to the commitments given to the people.
